Office Expansion
Office expansion is the right move for Abilitec
Bedfordshire based IT systems integrator Abilitec is celebrating continued success
following the expansion of its operation to bigger premises in Ampthill at the end
of last year.
The company, which boasts a wide range of blue chip customers including BT, NTL,
BP and TNT, and partnerships with some of the world's leading software suppliers,
now wants to help local businesses get the most out of their technology.
As a systems integrator, Abilitec supplies best-of-breed software solutions to help
organisations proactively monitor and manage their IT infrastructures. Such solutions
will assist in the prediction and prevention of IT faults and provides a mechanism
for logging, tracking and resolving issues. In addition, Abilitec provides consultancy
advice, support and training which enables organisations to get the most out of
their investment.
Having achieved its target for a £2.8 million turnover by the end of last year,
Abilitec's expansion programme was made possible by Lloyds TSB Corporate. The bank
was instrumental in providing financial planning and assistance in acquiring Abilitec's
new premises in Froghall Road, Ampthill, trading up from its previously rented office
space in Dunstable.
Abilitec managing director Mark Cowan has no doubt that the move has allowed the
company to go from strength to strength. "Our new premises have helped us to present
a more prestigious image to clients, and we've taken on significant new contracts
as a result. It has also been invaluable in enabling us to bid for government contract
work, which we have now done successfully."
Adrian Sibley, senior relationship manager at the bank's Milton Keynes office, said:
"By providing expert financial advice and assistance, we were able to give Abilitec
the best possible deal and help keep them on track for expansion during this year."
Mark Cowan continued: "Adrian and his account team have been more than just bank
managers - they have always gone the 'extra mile' to help and assist us with our
plans. Not only did they help to finance our recent expansion, but they also provided
invaluable support during a company restructure last year.
"The result has been a very successful expansion. This move has enabled us to take
on more staff and invest more into our Network Operation Centre which means that
we can now provide managed IT services to local businesses, while continuing to
look after existing customers. We have concentrated our ongoing recruitment programme
within the local area, and found there to be an excellent pool of skills on which
to draw."
Founded in 1999, Abilitec has over 20 employees and partners with a number of software
vendors including NASDAQ listed Micromuse Inc (MUSE), market leaders in software
for business and service assurance, and Alarmpoint Systems, market leaders in software
for critical event notification and response.
