Application and Network Performance Troubleshooting
End user and business requirements in today´s competitive environment dictate that
a company needs to utilise its IT technology strategically throughout the whole
organisation to maximize operational efficiency and performance. As IT infrastructure
is increasingly becoming the lynchpin on the which the success of an organisation
depends, it is vital that an organisation´s IT applications and infrastructure are
optimally tuned to maximize performance.
Users require both consistent and satisfactory application response times that fulfil
any Service Level Agreement (SLA) response time criteria. In addition to an organisation
requiring rapid IT fault resolution, any application or infrastructure issues resulting
in a degradation of IT performance need to be identified and rectified before adversely
affecting user and business requirements.

Pre-Deployment Application Testing
- Baseline the application performance in a test-bed environment. This pinpoints and
isolates potential bottlenecks and optimises the application performance.
- Determine the predicted application performance over a WAN with a measurement of
user response times against SLA requirements.
- Discern the scalability of the application over a Wide Area Network (WAN) prior
to roll-out.
Application Troubleshooting in a Production Environment.
- Measure the end-to-end application performance over an existing WAN.
- Isolate end user performance issues pertaining to either the individual network
infrastructure (servers [eg web, application, database], network, workstations)
or the actual application itself.
- Highlight how the current network infrastructure is fulfilling the current business
requirements.
Network Performance Management.
- Network traffic breakdown across a WAN, to discern network infrastructure performance
and application usage across a company network.
- To discern bandwidth usage on a application / business critical / user usage basis,
to determine network resource consumption or any bottleneck caused by applications
contending over bandwidth usage.
- To analyse the network traffic for application breakdown, in order to discern specific
application issues such as bandwidth contention, latency or workstation or server
delays.
Server Monitoring
- To gain an understanding of how key applications are performing, by monitoring and
identifying server resources / operation system / database issues before they adversely
affect end user performance.
All of the above services include a bespoke report. This report provides an analysis
of the current scenario of the application or network profiling characteristics
and predictive report. Moreover, the report includes findings and recommendations
to optimise application performance, e.g. application fine tuning, bandwidth requirements,
coupled with recommended remedial action to correct application degradation. This
is to fulfil the objective of improving application performance and thereby maximize
the investment made by a company in its application deployment and network infrastructure.
